The Speculative Fiction of Heather Fleming

I figured it was past time for an update . . .

. . . so here’s what I’ve got.

Crumbled Colossus, which was released last November, and has been available since then on Amazon and directly from its publisher, Lulu, is still not available in stores like Barnes and Noble and Books-a-Million. None of the many people I’ve contacted have been able to give me a reason for this, but since it has taken this long and it still not available through them, I don’t think that it will ever be available from them. I plan to try again with my next book, Nephilim Rising, and will pay the registration fee that is supposed to make it so that my books are put into Barnes and Noble’s and Books-a-Million’s databases, and hopefully it will work this time, but if it does not, I will not be trying to make my books available through those stores in the future. I’m sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to the people who like to shop in brick and mortar stores, and have purchased all of my other books this way.

Nephilim Rising will be coming out next month, near the end of May. I hope it will live up to the expectations that were set for it at the end of Crumbled Colossus. In this book, Eden fights to find her own path, while Abdiel struggles to live up to their father’s expectations – neither of them has it easy, and as lines are drawn, the St. Jude siblings come to realize that they might not be standing on the same side when Abaddon’s seal breaks. Brimstone Angels, the final book in the Gargoyle Legends, will finish up this series at the end of the year, in December.

I have my next project lined up and I’ll have a preview of it ready for you guys soon.

In the meantime, I’ve moved on to writing the second to last Gargoyle Legend: Nephilim Rising, to be released next May. I’ll update again as soon as I’ve got something worth posting.

Found Some Fan Art!

As the title of this post suggests, I found a piece of fan art for The Gargoyle Legends online for the first time this morning. Some of my readers have given me their drawings at book signings, or when I’ve met with their reading or writing groups, and I’ve had a few pieces mailed to me, but this was the first time I’ve seen one posted online, and it makes me very happy!

You can check it out by following this link to the artist’s picture on deviantart.

Crumbled Colossus Preview Chapters

Right now I’m editing Book 6: Crumbled Colossus, but the first few chapters are pretty close to how I want them, so I’ve uploaded Chapters 1-3 to give you guys a preview. The cover art is still in the works, but I hope to have that up in a few weeks too.

Also, since several people have requested it, I’ve converted two of the novellas from the Short Stories gallery into eBooks. Right now they’re still being registered in Barnes and Noble’s system, but within a few days “Tarot Killer” and “Fire in the Sky” will be available as downloads from bn.com for 99 cents. They can still be read for free on this website, and I am more than happy for everyone to do that. It’s just that a few people wanted to have easy access to them on their iPads, nooks, or whichever other devices they download eBooks on to, so I obliged. I’ll put up another post, with more info about them, when they’re actually available.
